Reduce Plastic Starting from Travel:

Every time we stay in a hotel, we consume 2-4 bottles of bottled water daily. While convenient, is it environmentally friendly?

Globally, an average of 1 million PET bottles are consumed every minute, most of which end up being directly discarded.
The carbon emissions from 2 PET bottles per hotel room equal the carbon sequestration of 0.0018 camphor trees. Each room consumes PET bottles equivalent to approximately 0.68 camphor trees annually.
By reducing the use of 2 PET bottles per room, each group of guests collectively plants the equivalent of 0.0018 camphor trees.

Since hotels worldwide no longer provide single-use amenities, why not eliminate bottled water, the biggest pollutant?
